En la Conferencia Anual del Consejo de las Américas realizada el 21 de mayo de 1985, expresó el Presidente Ronald Reagan:
“I’d also like to thank Puerto Rico’s Governor, Rafael Hernandez Colon, with us today, for the support that you’ve given to help us promote democracy and economic progress in the entire Caribbean region”.

Remembering the constructive harmony between President Ronald Reagan and Governor Rafael Hernández Colón
At the Annual Conference of the Council of the Americas held on May 21, 1985, President Ronald Reagan stated:
“I’d also like to thank Puerto Rico’s Governor, Rafael Hernández-Colón, with us today, for the support that you’ve given to help us promote democracy and economic progress in the entire Caribbean region.”
The constructive harmony between President Ronald Reagan and Governor Rafael Hernández-Colón remains an inspiring example. Both leaders transcended ideological differences to find common ground in shared goals that serve the country well and establish constructive guidelines for future generations.
